I have installed windows on my macbook pro. It is the one with a 128mb 8600 graphics card. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any 3d acceleration. I tried installing half-life 2 and far cry on it, but neither of them would start. Then I tried to install the old counter-strike, and it I was told that I could only run it in software mode.

Another problem I have is that when I am scrolling, both in windows explorer and firefox the scrolling stutters.

I tried to download the nvidia driver which should work for the 8000 series but the installer couldn't find my graphics card.

I have already installed the bootcamp drivers, so I have no idea what is wrong. Can anyone help me?

I'm having the exact same problems, if your like me, a big reason for getting the pro was so that you could have the option to indulge in some of your favorite pc games. It sucks large when you find out it isnt all you hope it out to be... These Macbook Pro's are extremely powerful machines with pretty good graphics cards, I've seen what the graphics are capable on the mac side, i just wish it could be replicated on the windows side of things.

I've asked for help on this before, but no one seems to know... hopefully we will finally get an answer from those who know better.

Not sure what the answer is, but fyi, I've been running Real Flight G3.5, which is very runs very well at virtually all max settings (100fps).

I thought they updated BootCamp drivers disk with the new drivers, shortly after the new models were released.

For reference: I have the previous MBP, with the 1600 and 256MB VRAM.

I have the newer bootcamp installed with the newer driver. I guess technically I do get 3d acceleration, but at extremely slow rates. NHL 07, a game that is pretty simple, much less graphically intense than most of the first person shooters out there, runs horribly. I can load the game play, it but it is so choppy that is unplayable, I am certain if I could some how load the NVidia Catalyst for windows, that it would correct the problem because I know that the graphics card is more than powerful enough to run this game well.

This bootcamp nvidia driver is still in driving school.
