Since updating to Monterey 12.6 my MacBooks Pro (2 x 16 inch, 1 x 14 inch) I do not have 3D available in Google Maps (in all browsers) and in Apple Maps (3D in Google earth is working though). In both cases the 3D button is permanently dimmed. Any ideas what could cause this?

Same here but don't know what's causing it. I see in the status bar "3D Earth view is not available." There are a lot of threads out there describing the same issue with no workaround results. I even tried the suggestion to turn off the Develop > Experimental Features > Web GL via Metal, but it made no difference.

It's working fine in Apple Maps for me (the "Maps" application). When you say Google Maps - you mean the website maps.google.com?

Same here. When I upgraded my M1 Max from Monterey 12.5 to 12.6 it grayed out the 3D option in Google Maps and that has remained the case in 12.6.1. Workaround is to use Chrome. Seems to be the workaround for a lot these days, unfortunately.

Currently running Monterey update from 12.4 to 12.6.1 on my 2017 Intel laptop, and we'll see how that goes. Once I've done that I'll probably push the M1 on to Ventura.

And now the plot thickens. I've just run the 12.6.1 update on my 2017 Intel MacBook Pro 15, and the 3D in Google Maps is working just fine. But it remains greyed out on the M1 Max MacBook Pro 16. Why is this? What should I do?

UPDATE: Just updated Safari to 16.1 on the 2017 Intel MacBook Pro 15, and now the 3d in Google Maps is grayed out in Safari. This appears to be specific to Safari 16.
