No 3g in Boston?

Was up there the other weekend - 3G worked well all throughout the city.
I was quite impressed...
I work in Boston, commute into the city and typically walk around the city from time to time and I can easily say that I've never once lost 3G coverage. In fact 3G coverage is excellent in the city, I even get a few bars in the subway - at least on a few stops in the subway.
I'm in boston and i'm ok.
Is it on EDGE? or is it blank?
what happens when you put it on airplane mode and then off again?
Your sure 3G is enabled?
yes, that's my point. I've been up in Boston for school for two years now, and I've never not had full 3g service. But yesterday my 3g just disappeared and im getting shoddy EDGE service at best.
The problem still hasn't been solved today. Anyone else in Boston having problems RIGHT NOW?
Sounds like the same thing going on here in south orange county, CA. Some areas are more effected then others. What is worse is the phones appear to be on the 3G network but then randomly drop off or fail to transfer any data. Really frustrating right now. For now, I'm back on the edge and it seems to be running just fine.
Like another poster said, put it in airplane mode, then back to normal, and see if that pops into 3g mode. The only place in MA I have never gotten 3g is at the wrentham outlets.
i too noticed this a few days ago - can't remember if it was the date that the OP posted but it may have been. it was only for 1 day though, suddenly i was getting Edge just outside of davis sq where i always had gotten 3G. but after that one day it's been back to normal. i hadn't noticed what i was getting downtown at work...probably was 3G, i'm sure i would've noticed had the E been there.

I don't know but I'm using version 3.1 on my iPhone 3GS. I'm always in Boston and work in the area with 3G coverage always & full bars.
Even, on the south shore I constantly have 3G..haven't seen the "Edge" symbol in a while now.

could be all sorts of thing, in my home area i usually get good 3g, but one friday night it was "dead". I called at&t and they said it was an outage and they would have someone look into it. The next day i called back to see if it was fixed because my 3g was still dead, they had no idea of any prior outage but would look into it (again??) She said that its not recorded if there was an outage the day before, only if there was one currently. strange was to keep track i thought.
Now my 3g is 3-4 bars in my house, most of the time, sometimes less, but its not like the 4-5 i always had. At least it works!
