Not really sure what is going on, I installed 18.1 but I feel like I have none of the features.

It says I updated, shows version 18.1.

Any idea what I can do

I have a 16 pro max ( Siri set to us English ) I don’t have the option to turn it on… can’t see it in the menu

It took about an hour to get me to the AI&S activation screens on my M4 iPP after the 18.1 Update . . . it Glows!

I'm waiting on the iPhone Mini to get up-to-speed w/18.1 before updating the M2 Studio to 15.1....

For my wife and daughter’s iPhones, Region is set to US and Language is set to English (US), and even after installing 18.1, and AI enabled in Settings, they still do not have Writing Tools working.

I don’t know why… Suggestions?

Not sure if you’re aware , the text must be selected first then writing tools are available from the contextual menu. As far as I know, only the Notes app has a dedicated button for Writing Tools at this point

Not entirely correct; Messages, Facebook, basically anywhere you type in text, now has the Writing Tools option - at least in iOS and iPadOS 18.2.

You mis-understood. It’s correct that the writing tools are everywhere, but having to highlight the text is a bit counterintuitive. Here in the notes app there is a button right up front. Hopefully this will be the norm across all apps at some point

I just checked all on my wife and daughter’s iPhones and I simply do not understand why Writing Tools are not available for them.

Have you checked to see if it's being blocked through Screen Time?

Block access to Writing Tools

You can set Content & Privacy Restrictions to have Screen Time restrict access to Writing Tools.
  1. Go to Settings, then tap Screen Time.
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions, then turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  3. Tap Intelligence & Siri, tap Writing Tools, then tap Allow or Don’t Allow.

Checked and verified - Writing Tools is specifically allowed. They are just not there…

Photos Clean-Up is there, just not Writing Tools…
