Can anyone profer advice please.

Mac Pro 8 core 2.8ghz early 2008

Aiport not recognized in Snow Leopard 64 bit mode ? Very strange. I've reset PRAM but to no avail, and can't find many threads with similar, so I'm hoping this finds someone who has a solution.

77 views and no solution or anyone with similar :(

Guess i'll have to stick to 32bit Snow Leopard if I want to keep my Airport Extreme

Strangely it works without issue in 'Windows 7 64bit'....

Hmmm... you most likly do not have the 64bit drivers.... Quite Odd. Looks on apples website or call Applecare to find ware they are. Also try installing the Airport extream software. Might fix ur problem

Update...

Nope sorry it did not resolve. Noticed I was still running in the 32bit kernell. Rebooted to 64bit and still get the error "no airport installed."
