I called Apple today to check out the trade-in program since I bought my PowerBook relatively recently (End of Aug). Frankly, I didn't think I was eligible but I figured it was worth a phone call. The woman on the phone said that it wasn't eligible because it was a refurbished unit, almost as if to say that it would have been eligible otherwise! Is this true? Does Apple disclose this? Has anyone else tried the trade-in program, and if so, what is the time limit? Thanks.

I'm fairly certain they don't have a trade in program. I think what she was probably referring to was the price match policy. But that's speculation on my part.

Almost looks like it'll be for the people who are still eligible for the 10-day price change policy, people who haven't had their machine built, or the machine was just shipped.
