After installing Sonoma on my intel iMac 2020, my boot camp partition has no audio! Specifically I am running Windows 10 on boot camp. My steam games plus Youtube has no audio. Please help!

Things have not been good. I have now installed windows 10 at least 8-10 times using boot camp assistant and with each installation I have gone down even deeper rabbit holes. Having no audio is one thing but now windows does not even read my external SSD hard drive! Amazing what one update to MacOS can do to screw things up.

Installing windows 10 in the past was a breeze. Everything just works once I have gone past the initial setup. Following the advice of bogdanw I tried to update the drivers but the system says I already have the best drivers available.

After messing around with the volume mixer, I managed to get some audio, but when I tried to launch games via the steam client, an error message says that there is not enough resources to complete the task. At this point I am about to pull out all my hair!

I have uninstalled and re-installed steam numerous times, all with the same results. In order for the system to access the external SSD (where all my game files are), I have to assign a pathway for it manually and the setting does not stay. I have to re-assign it everytime the system reboots in order for the drive to be read at all.

I have lost so many hours on it and am just about to give up.

I imagine Apple doesn't really care about any "intel related" issues. Get used to it. I am not budging from Monterrey even if Apple never releases another security fix for it. My boot camp was one of the reasons I switched to Mac 13 years ago..
