I do not know if this is an odd glitch on my iPhone or if I am simply missing something but I do not have the "auto check" option in my mail settings. I watched the video on apple.com and wanted to turn the feature off to save battery and it just is not there. Is any one else expereincing this?

So there is no item under Settings/Mail/Auto-Check?

Should be the first line under 'Messages".

It's just not there? Are you only using Yahoo mail?

Yes, I am only using Yahoo! mail...the first menu choice available for me is "show" (as in the number of messages it diplays at a time).

It's because Yahoo is supposed to be push email, when it actually works. If it was working perfectly, you wouldn't need an auto-check, since it will push the email to the phone immediately upon receipt.

I am having problems with the push being immediate all the time though.

Oh well that explains it then...thanks for your help. Now that you mention it, it is pretty instant for me actually...I got an email alert last night and seconds later a text from the person who sent it telling me they sent me an email, so I guess it is working.

I was wondering the same thing, I believe I had seen the setting in the past. It makes sense that it's auto push, then this is not needed.

Like others have said if your just using Yahoo! it will push the mail to your phone. Unlike others however I havent had any trouble at all with Yahoo's push service for the iPhone...
