I thought that installing the public beta for iOS 11 would automatically update Apple IDs from two-step verification to two-factor authentication (at least I received an e-mail from Apple announcing that). However, after I installed the public beta yesterday that didn't happen. I was using two-step authentication before and that hasn't changed. I know that I can do that manually by disabling two-step authentication and then enabling two-factor authentication, but I was hoping to avoid that procedure and have it done automatically instead.

Has this automatic switch worked for anyone else?

Mind providing a copy of the email. Sounds strange. I think Macrumors would have reported it if that wasn't legit.
