No background color when I double click prior to copying.

Suddenly there's no background color to denote selected word/text prior to copying, cutting, etc. I have shifted from dark to light theme, followed the Apple, preference, general, accent color recommendation a number of times to no avail.

Suggestions?

Have you restarted your Mac? Is this happening in every app or just some?

I have done a restart, no joy. It happens every time I double click on somethibng to cut, copy, etc.
