No badge icon for text message for one specific person. Nothing seems to work to get it appear.

Tried everything. All settings seem to be as they should. Everyone else activates the text/iMessage badge when there’s an unread text.

Any clue what the issue could be?

Have you got another device signed into to iMessage with messages open? You could have the chat with that individual open, and when messages are received (on the other device) it's marking it as read on all devices

There were two linked cards to it. I merged them. May be fixed now. This hasn’t been an issue until recently, like past four months or so. Fingers crossed.

No dice. Still not showing message badge for this person, but get blue dot next to message inside the message app.

Just saw it happened with another contact. Both of these contacts are not iPhone uses. Green texters. Don’t see any settings that would cause this.
