hmmmm.... anyone else having this problem?

My transition to iCloud from MobileMe was actually pretty smooth... although I am having one annoying problem.

I am no longer getting badges for the number of emails in my inbox on my desktop mail icon in the dock? I still get an audio signal when the mail comes in but no number.... which is annoying cause then I have to periodically check the actual program to see if I have any mail in my inbox.

Anyone else having this problem? am I missing something here? when I go to preferences and click "for all mailboxes" it shows a number in the thousands... but when i choose "for inbox only" I get nothing??

thanks in advance for any help!

yes i'm up to date on all software.

Sounds bizarre, not sure I have a solution for you but I can add something. I noticed that since I upgraded to iCloud and iOS5 my iPhone sometimes opens up a new message on its own in mail. When this happens, the mail shows up on my computer as if it was already opened so no badge. I just wrote it off as a minor bug that will be fixed in time. For the most part though, I get new emails with the badge on my computer no problem. So, is it possible, if you have an iPhone or iPad, that the messages are being pushed to your computer as opened because they were already opened on your iDevices?

thats the thing... I WANT them to not show up if I've read them on my devices... but even when they aren't it never shows up.

I.E. I'll send a test email from my computer and it will come back in 5 seconds later... no badge....

so nothing on this...? so annoying... the email alert sound happens when a new email comes in but there are no badges on the icon. If I go into preferences and click dock unread count for "all mailboxes" it shows thousands from my old account... but the inbox only just doesn't work showing badges.
