JUST brought home a brand new, in plastic MBA from Best Buy.. Husband tried to power it on thinking that most devices have at least a few minutes charge out of the box but it would not come on... He unwrapped the cord and plugged it in and it came on.... He went thru all the initial setup stuff and was looking at some of the settings when he noticed it didn't look like it was charging... He tried to look at the battery status and it said "no batteries available"??? Has anybody heard of anything like this with the Airs?? It almost seems like the thing doesn't have a battery or at the very least it isn't connected right, is there anything we can check??

What you need to do is shut down the computer. Press the power button to turn it back on and hold it until the white sleep light flashes quickly (I'm not sure if this is the same procedure on a MBA, so you might want to try googling how to reset the MBA's SMC). If there isn't a battery recognized after that, you'll want to contact Apple.
