No boot screen

Hi

So I have a Mac mini 2011 2.5 i5
It works fine only that I can’t see a boot screen. It works like a Mac Pro without a flasher gpu..
there’s a chime and after a short while the desktop appears but I cant see the boot screen. I’m using dp to my monitor but it doesn’t work on hdmi either. The only time I can see the boot screen is by using a dp to hdmi adapter to my screen.

Has anyone ever experienced this behavior? I’ve tried resetting the PRAM and it doesn’t seem to work.

What monitor and resolution? I've heard of issues with 4k as well as DP 1.2 - sometimes tweaking settings in the monitor helps.

It’s 1440p, I can see the boots teen only while using a minidp to hdmi adapter. But since it’s a 2011 hdmi only outputs 1080...
