"No bootable device found" after uninstalling Boot Camp

I started to install Windows XP but gave up when I realized that I didn't have the product activation key (I thought that I had it, but I didn't). So I used the Boot Camp Assistant to remove my Boot Camp partition. Now whenever I restart my MacBook Pro, I get the "No bootable disk found" screen. I can still boot to OS X by holding down the Option key on startup and selecting my OS X disk. Only the OSX partition appears in the boot disk selector--no Windows partitions appear.

You may have had the Windows volume set as the default startup device. Launch into OSX, go to System Preferences, and select the OSX volume as the startup disk. That "should" do it.

Seems weird that it would have changed the startup disk without my knowledge, but what can you do?
