Hello all, this is my first time posting here but I often check the boards. I have a problem and was hoping somebody here might be able to help.

I have a 24" alum iMac that's maybe 4 months old now. About a month ago, using Boot Camp, I created a partition for windows and went to install and go through the process. At this time, I can't remember exactly the reason but I decided not to go through with it and got rid of the partition. Ever since, when I start up my iMac i need to hold down the option key and then select Macintosh HD, which is the only option. If I don't do this, a black screen appears displaying "no bootable device" and I can't do anything from here without restarting.

I've been told this isn't a big deal if I don't mind hitting the option key every time as I would probably have to reformat the whole drive in order to fix it, which I don't want to do if I can avoid it.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there somewhere in my Preferences where I can select to have Macintosh HD be the default boot drive, or something a long these lines?

Thanks for any help, much appreciated!

doh! i thought i had already done that and there was something else. THANKS!
