I have a problem with the caller ID on my iphone.

I have an american iPhone and used pwnage to jailbreak/unlock it.

I have installed the Appsupport Patch 1.1.4 but i still only get the number when someone in my contacts calls me (all my contact are in the +xx format).

Now if someone calls me, then i add their number to the existing contact and then delete that number again, then their name will appear when they call me next... but not otherwise

I'm confused, can someone help me with that?

It's because of all the country code jazz. I don't think you need to put the number into your phone with the country code in front of them, unless they aren't in the same country.

the thing is I travel abroad quite often and also have a lot of numbers from outside the UK, so i would rather keep them in the international format

Then it's an issue I guess. You could always attach both numbers to a contact. One with country and one without. It's going to be an issue no matter what phone you use.

I run into the issue as well since I go back forth between the US and Aussie, but it's something I've learned to live with.
