Hi,

I currently have an iPhone 3G running the 3.0 GM (but I have had success rolling back to 2.2.1) and I am going to get an iPhone 3GS (for development) and wanted to give my dad my current iPhone 3G, he does not have the unlimited data plan, but he does have the 100MB medianet plan on his current winmo smartphone. Would my iPhone act as a normal No Contract iPhone 3G if I bought the new iPhone 3GS and gave my dad the old iPhone 3G, also, what would happen if I connected the iPhone 3G with my dads sim card into iTunes?

I don't know if I have the right baseband to unlock my phone, so if anybody has tried this, please respond!

I am pretty sure he will be able to activate the phone in iTunes with his SIM, without having to change plans or sign some sort of contract.

I am not sure how it will work out with his current data plan though.

So then my iPhone 3G is basicly a no contract iPhone at this point?
