Hi,
I frequently run into next issue after starting Win10 (iMac 2017 - Bootcamp installed on C: internal SSD):
my external Samsung T5 (USB3.1) drive connected to a thunderbolt 3 port is not always receiving a drive letter (in the correct case it receives drive letter D: )

- If I open disk management, the drive is visible (available/connected, exFat formatted , 45% used,...) but without a drive letter.
- In disk management: Right click and assigning a letter to it works fine to resolves the problem... but, to be honest, this is not the scenario I will present to my wife/children if they just want to use Windows & the T5-drive)
- I prefer the USB 3.1 via thunderbolt over the USB 3.0 ports to connect the drive as some of the programs and games are installed on it (and speed matters ).
- In OSX it always appears correct and is always ready to use.
