No dual Thunderbolt Display on updated Mini??

Given that Apple graphics support in the updated Mini is limited to Intel HD4000 - does this mean no dual TB display support? If true, that's a huge degradation of functionality. Basically I cannot upgrade my mid-2011 Mini to the current model, as I cannot use my second TB display.

Apple store doesn't even offer an option of a 2nd display for latest Mini, so it doesn't look good!

Can you point me to where Apple says that? The spec page on the latest Mini mentions nothing of dual TB displays.

Look at the "Features" page on the Mac Mini site and go to "Thunderbolt". The text clearly states "2 Thunderbolt displays".

What about three displays in the 24" range? Is this possible with the HD 4000?

Assuming another company produces displays with both Thunderbolt and HDMI ports, can we assume the new mac minis could drive three identical monitors?

This is hypothetical (I know of no TB display manufacturers other than Apple) but at least ASUS announded a TB display recently...

Yeah, of course this would be possible. Don't know if the HDMI port supports up to 1600p though.

still haven't found solid answer on this yet, but I'd like to know... it SHOULD be possible, considering even the macbook air with HD 4000 can run its own display plus two thunderbolt displays

Yeah, of course this would be possible. Don't know if the HDMI port supports up to 1600p though.

The hardware should support high resolutions out the HDMI, but with stock OSX the highest you'll get is 1920x1200x60Hz. With SwitchResX you can force a custom video mode and get 2560x1440x40Hz. Not all monitors support reduces refresh rates, but my mini is driving an EQ276W out the hdmi port that way.

You connect one Thunderbolt Display to the Mac mini and then connect the next Thunderbolt Display (daisy chain) to the first Thunderbolt Display (it has a thunderbolt controller for daisy chaining and adding another display, external hard drive or anything that supports thunderbolt.
