So, I have searched and searched, and it seems as though there is no one selling an extension cable for iPod docks.

Basically, my wife and I got new iPods with cases, and they will no longer fit in our Belkin docks or iHome docks. Many Google searches have revealed that many people are looking for an iPod dock extension cable, but the products do not seem to exist.

The solution seems simple, buy a male and a female iPod dock connector and connect them with wires. Sure, it requires some soldering, but I am sure that there are some people around who can handle this task or can program a machine to do it.

Here are the parts for sale:
Female Connector

Male Connector

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I do not know the first thing about soldering. I do know that people make thousands of different cables like this everyday, so I'm sure that someone can do it.

$26 for a 2 foot cable isn't exactly something I would recommend. I am waiting for monoprice to make us a cable for a fraction of that price.
