There is a toggle in the "View" menu that says "Show Favorites Bar," or you could:

A) Press Shift-Command-B
B) Just add a bookmark with Bookmarks>Add Bookmark... or by pressing Command-D.

another solution is to click the adress-bar. a proxy icon will show up on the left side of the bar that you can interact with.

Ah... Thanks.
Another extra step but I guess won't waste time much.

----------

Have you tried dragging the web address?

I guess you can do that, but you need to click until the address is selected, right?

I don't mind losing title bar but I dragged a web to desktop often. Just don't like all this extra step. Apple should include favicon when you opt for showing long web address. It would be perfect.

OSX is not iOS. I understand why in iOS we have short web address and it's centered. In OSX We actually drag things around. Little things like this make me think Apple had lost their magic a bit.

Dragging the URL without selecting the text itself works just like the favicon...it's a weird way to handle that, but it works the same way the favicon did in older versions. Clicking it will then let you select the text and figure out what to do with it...

Really? Well, that's really weird but a happy surprise.
