Neither my AirPods Pro nor AirPods Max will upgrade to the newest firmware. No matter what I do, nothing. Unpaired, paired, on the charger, etc. My firmware is stuck on the previous version.

Apple, it just works.

Open the charging case lid, leave in the case, and set next to the iPhone it is paired with overnight. Make sure it says connected under BT settings.

Last update I swung a cat around over my head and it worked...this time I rode a pig backwards while singing the Star-Spangled Banner.

My ipod wouldn't update mine so had to buy a new ipad...

Now my airpod firmware updates right away without plugging them in to power.

Why do you want the latest firmware? Are you experiencing bugs? I actually hope there was a way that I could prevent mine from updating. Firmware 5E135 made my APP 2's ANC a lot worse than before. I've been really satisfied with the ANC performance for the past few months, but all this changed today after I got the latest firmware. I could hear hiss from the freezers in supermarkets, people talking, even my own footsteps which I could never hear before the firmware update.
