Hi. How certain is it that there is no new buttonless glass trackpad on the revised MBA? The general consensus seems to be so, but is it based on a real assertion from Apple or just an assumption?

It seems that people initially thought that the CPU had not been updated on the Air just because Jobs didn't explicitly announce that on the press conference, could it be the same case with the glass trackpad?

Thanks,
Tommi

From the promotional materials I've seen as well as what's on the site, there's no new trackpad on there. They definitely would've announced it if there was too...

Unless they completely screwed up the webpage for the MBA, there's no glass trackpad. It's the same style as the old MBA, but unlike the old MBA, it does support four-fingered swipe.

Fortunately, they _never_ screw up on the web site (hello, backlight!). But, no, it would appear that the Air's trackpad hasn't changed. Maybe the glass one is heavier?

The question is, would the old trackpad support the new gestures? Even though they are useless to me lol

Yes, the new MBA supports the new gestures. See the specs page for the MBA.

Then wanting the glass trackpad in the MBA is useless :D

If the buttons in the current MBAs are having problems, imagine problems with the glass ones

i wasn't bothered about not having the glass track pad. But I would have Totally missed the new 4 finger swipe and questioned buying the air. ( i love multitouch :D)

So there you go..4 finger swipe and a nice big track pad. Oh and a button too. what's not to like?
