Am I the only one that finds it a bit ridiculous that for the edition models, specifically the men's model, you're basically stuck between choosing a cheap, plastic band or a leather band? The leather band looks nice, but it isn't even available on the rose gold version. Why is there not an option for an 18kt gold band (or maybe even one that's half silver, half gold)? I would just feel ridiculous rocking the edition model on a plastic band. This seems like a huge oversight on Apple's end. Also, rocking something like the milanese band on a rose gold model just looks stupid as well.

My opinion.

1: Apple would not want to sell a Gold Plated strap as they have made such a BIG DEAL about the Edition case being solid gold.

2: They can't use 9ct Gold in the strap after making such a song and dance about using 18ct for the watch cases.

3: A solid gold 18ct watch strap would use so much gold it would push the price sky high.

And on that note: Is why I don't think the editions will be as crazy high priced as some are saying. a actual 18ct gold strap would push the price into that area I'm sure, and the fact Apple are not offering such a strap may be showing us they don't intent to get into that price area.

You're guessing about the final options by what Apple posted several months ago?
You may see other choices (even some bands not pictured anywhere) when the watch actually is released for sale.

And let's not forget there will be literally hundreds of 3rd party watch straps from 3rd party makers of all prices, styles and qualities.

Some I'm sure will amaze people at how great they look for such a low price.
Others will be fun plastic ones also

Metals, Leathers, Plastics.

There will be so many to choose from I'm sure.

Seems the Edition is geared more towards women than men. And if they did an all gold band it would push the price sky high.

I'd like to buy the 42mm Rose Gold ONLY if its available with a Black Leather Strap with the Classic buckle in Rose Gold. Not interested in plastic straps for the Edition.

Its hard to work out what Straps are available in the Gold Editions, lets see when the time comes......

The gallery shows 6 different versions, which is consistent with the messaging on the other pages of the Apple Watch website.

It appears the 42mm Rose Gold is available only with the sport band. The 38mm is available with the rose gray leather band, but that seems geared to women.

I do like the 38mm rose gold Edition, though. If they sell the blue modern buckle separately, I might get it. Sure, it has stainless steel trim, but rose gold and stainless steel don't necessarily clash.

I think they will likely produce much smaller quantities of the Edition until they have a better sense of demand. They can always add more band choices later.

Apparently based off the website, Apple isn't making a 42mm Rose Gold model with a black capped crown, just white. Huge oversight.

Yeah, looking at the Edition models, it really seems to me like they've targeted them toward women, hence the band choice.

I really wanted one, but they are just too effeminate for me.

I'll probably end up with the black stainless for that reason.
