I don't think that the iMac will be refreshed in April. Here's why:

A month before the Macbook Pro refresh, there were rumors predicting a refresh based on tightened supply. Here we are, almost 1 month from May, and none of these rumors have appeared.

I hate to say it, but I think we have at least another month to wait.

Both the Mac Mini and one of the 27" iMac models are showing up as "Backordered" at BestBuy.com. I think we're beginning to see the very early signs of a constrained supply. Give it a week or two and I think we'll start seeing even more.

Also try to remember the imacs are never going to sell as quickly as MBP's, its just a given.

should I wait and see if refreshed IMacs are coming? or just ordered mine now? reading rumors and based on time frame looks like refreshed units are around the corner. I don't wanna buy now and few days after boom a refreshed lot of Imacs showing everywhere. please advice. thx

It's a possibility they might or might not be released, we'll just have to find out.

But, with Apple holding their WWDC 2011 in early June, and that the focus is on both iOS and Mac OS X there is a possibility of them released Mac OS X Lion and iOS at the same time. iOS has been updated in June/July since it's be released. So would be good early summer present if they released Lion!

Now, back to the iMac, Apple give a 30 day free upgrade to newer OS's within 30 days of a new Mac machine being brought.

If iMacs are updated early April, and Lion comes out early-mid June, there is a 2 month window between the new macs and new OS, and about a month before the 30 days start coming out.

But we'll just have to find out.

That would mean that Apple would want to do that in order to get those early adopters of the iMac to later on purchase more of their goods.

It doesn't make sense to have the Macbook Pros with the i7s and Sandybridge and not have the iMacs on parity. They'll rectify this as soon as possible. And as others have pointed out, the rumor mill is intensifying, supplies are tightening, and we are overdue for the refresh. I said it before: April 10th (I know it's a Sunday, but I didn't check the calendar before I made the prediction.

Most updates come on tuesdays so today as always im pruning the rumor sites and watching the apple store.

The last big rumour was the imac on a boat rumour. Since then...nothing!
I want some BIG news!!

I dont see us getting any more rumors until a week before the release.
