Hi, not sure if it is related. I updated to the latest iPad OS last week. Today my iPad Pro has no video image when playing from the YouTube app. Only audio. Is there a way to fix this? I have already rebooted the device.

Are you connected to an external monitor? If so, that is not working now, either on purpose or a glitch.

Thanks. Yes, connecting to a TV via HDMI. So we just have to wait or use another device?

Yeah. Hopefully, this is a glitch and not a new policy. Some other apps - e.g., xfinity Stream - disable external display by policy. Maybe it will come back along with 2160p support on the iPad.

Somebody in the forum mentioned that he has no such issue with IP5 mini. So, only several models of iPad have this problem? Mine is iPad Po 12.9" 2017.

That member did not mention. I tried my iPhone 6s+. Same issue. As for my SmartTV, the entire YouTube page is white blank.

An old family member is budding me to get it fixed. If Samsung released Tab 7S+ LTE model, I could be bought it but Samsung decided to play games by not saying anything about availability of the LTE model in Canada.

So the YouTube app on iPad running ios14 was working fullscreen on an external monitor, I personally don’t think YouTube intended this to happen, they very quickly released another app update that took this function away and now results in a black screen if you connect to an external display, so a major step back.

Why can’t YouTube simply play nicely with Apple? They also promised 4K resolution but hey we don’t have that either.

Given that they are head-to-head rivals in many areas, I don't think Google will ever play nicely. Ever try to open Apple Notes on an Android device? Or iMessage?
