In the Philly area, there are no ipads to be found anywhere...

Darn

It's like this everywhere. There seem to be no iPads in either of the Carolinas, either. At the Durham Apple Store yesterday, an employee told me the shortage has something to do with meeting demand for units in the newly opened markets of Europe, Australia, and Asia at the end of this month.

I ordered mine online during the week due to the fact. No Bestbuys or Apple stores have them near by.

Same here. I was just in the Houston galleria apple store. Except they DID have them..watched one family buy 3 right in front of me, 3G.

So, I called apple and just ordered over the phone. I talked with them yesterday and they said they are still shipping them out and dont have a supply issue with any of the models when i asked if it helped if i got 16, 32, or 64. So, I ordered the 64.

I really wanted to buy at Best Buy to get it for 18 months % free. Oh well...I am ready to hand over my wifi to the wife.

Best Buy, Springfield Illinois, plenty in stock.

Really, How do you know? I just checked the online stock checker for BB and it shows Zero of all models.

not saying your lying, just wondered how you came about that info.

This iPad thing is gonna be a flop. I'm waiting until prices drop.

Seriously, though, I'm near Philly too and found none either so I just placed an order for a wifi only for my wife online. Hopefully within a couple weeks.

The Apple Store in Suburban Square in Philly is worth giving a call daily. They didn't give me the 'just come in a reserve one' BS, they actually told me when one was in stock. I drove in the next day and it was still there.

Try giving them a ring. Good luck!

i call b.s.... the guy doesn't know for sure and he's just speculating

I couldn't find a 3G anywhere when I went looking for one about two weeks ago so I ended up buying a wifi model instead. They only had 16GB and 64GB for the wifi's too, no 32GB. These things are almost as hard to find as the Wii was when it first came out.

The Apple Case is even harder to find, I went to 3 Apple stores and looked on Craigslist for one and couldn't find it anywhere. Apple.com said 3-4 weeks for shipping so I decided to skip it and buy a different case.

Father in law is getting 2 64GB 3G ipads and said they are holding one for him now and should get in other one in in a couple days in Salt lake city. Not so sure if they really hold them but that's what he said and I know he was down there 2 times in the last 2 weeks. I have my 16 gb wifi with no wait 5 days after launch and also got the apple case 3 weeks after launch. Sounds like slc apple store keeps stocked up. The next apple store is probably 500 miles away so maybe they get more in at one time?

Springfield Mo BestBuy, 2 each of the wifi models.

You must live in a magical fantasy Springfield MO then... because the one here has only received 5 iPads this entire week. 3 64GB wifi's and 2 32GB. Which were all sold out within 3 hours of UPS dropping them off.

It is like WWII and GIs. Overpriced, overly sexy and over here.

I got mine in Washington, at the Alderwood Mall Apple Store. I just walked in and I was told that they have "plenty in stock." Not sure about the other stores in the area.

I was at a BB today and a woman was throwing a tantrum that they didn't have iPads in stock and she needed one today

Funny, while I was in Seattle for the iPad 3G launch, the Alderwood Mall Apple Store was the only one with 3G stock on the Sunday after the launch. They had huge carts at the front door and were basically handing the iPads to people as they walked through the door. Heard so many people say they were from out of State because it was the only store with any stock.
Sorry, this post doesn't add much to the OP, I just thought it was a funny story. Although maybe the Alderwood store has crazy iPad stock levels. :p

If you are anywhere near a university that has a computer shop, check there. Mine sells Apple products, and has a dozen iPads on hand. The students have left for the summer, so sales have slowed to a crawl.

I went into the store and looked into the locked cage area right up front by the Customer Service. If you want I'll snap a photo.

Is it just 3g iPads that are out of stock at all the stores?

How are the stores stock of wifi ones?

Going down to Buffalo next Monday to visit some family and wanted to pick up a 32gb wifi iPad as well.
