I had an error report in Xcode 15 that had:

Event Metadata: com.apple.dt.IDERunOperationWorkerFinished : {
"device_model" = "iPhone15,2";
"device_osBuild" = "17.0 (21A5248u)";
...
I have iOS 17 available in my project, but can only select as high as an iPhone 14 simulator in the scheme selector even though this report mentions iPhone 15. An iPhone 15 cannot be added in Devices and Simulators panel either. Shouldn't we be able to select an iPhone 15 simulator since this is an iOS 17 beta? If not, why would this error report list the iPhone 15?

Ah ok.

Like the identifiers used in OpenCore

My 15 MBP is 11,3.

Thanks!

15,2 is the identifier for iPhone 14 pro.
Going by your username it seems like you would know why any sim I use higher than 15.3 on my old MBP with OCLP has a glitchy or black display. Would this be because if I select an iPhone 14, Xcode expects an arm Mac? Or more likely due to incompatible GPU?

Nothing about the iPhone 15 will be available in developer tools at least until the iPhone 15 is announced.
