Hello,
I just moved into a new apartment that seems to kill my cell phone signal (signal in the neighborhood is generally good). I am using an iphone on at&t. I kind of get one bar of service that goes in and out if I lean real close the the upper floor window, I can also get service by walking out into the parking lot. I don't think the building is to blame, there's just lots of trees around and its kind of between hills.

Is there a solution so I could set the iphone to forward to a number that would ring over VOIP on the computer while at home? Other than getting digital phone service for like $25 a month? I am under the impression you cannot forward calls to skype accounts. Any suggestions appreciated, as well as any tips on improving reception.

thanks

3G or EDGE

Are you getting a weak signal with 3G or EDGE? Before FW 2.1 I had a similar problem at my house. It would say 3G but with only one bar. I was dropping calls and people on the far end kept saying I was breaking up. I tried turning 3G off when I got home and everything was better on EDGE. I can't remember where I read it but I read somewhere that you can lose calls when your phone loses the 3G signal and has to change to EDGE. Obviously it could have been BS since I can't even remember where I heard that but I guess its possible.

Ever since 2.1 though I have had three bars of signal on 3G and no problems.

If you go near a window, do you get reception? If so, there are cell boosters available that are supposed to help pull in a signal..I think they cost around 200 dollars but I don't know whether people really like them or not.

I just forward my calls to my home phone...that works for me(although it sucks that I have to do it)
