I've had my Apple TV for a few weeks now and really enjoy it as a Netflix/YouTube player. Since I've had it though, I have never been able to play a video from my iTunes Library on my television. When I go to the Computers menu in the ATV it tells me to turn on Home Sharing (which I have on both devices) and when I pull up a video on AirPlay it only gives "My Computer" as an option.

I'm a college student using their network, so I'm wondering if that might be the issue. Any ideas?

Sounds like the college is blocking the ports home sharing uses. You could talk to the it department about access. The easiest watt would probably be to set up your own network in your room,

+1. You just need your own router. Let your router connect to the internet your school is providing and make it create a new local network for your Apple TV and computer and you should be in business.
