iPhone No Live Photos in iMessage

I upgraded to 13.1 last night and unfortunately dealt with the hours of indexing to get my photos back in my iMessages.
But the new problem is that there are many photos in my iMessage conversations that are Live Photos and they even show the Live Photo symbol but they do not play.
Any thoughts on this?

Yep, this hasn't worked at all on iOS 13, which I've been using since beta 1 in June. Really frustrating.

If you manually scroll to the photos in the actual message thread, they are live, but not if you look at or download them from the Details tab. I keep hoping they will fix it

Thanks for the info about scrolling to the photo and having live function work there. Makes me feel just slightly better

Yeah, dumpster fire iOS 13. Reported it in the betas multiple times. It was ignored, clearly. 12.4.1, not a single issue.
