I've noticed that when wearing my Apple Watch 3 that my iPhone 10 no longer shows or provides sound alerts on the lock screen for reminders. Other alerts also seem to be missing but its the reminders that I notice the most. I've experimented with the watch off and the alerts sound as usual.

The watch app is set to mirror the phone though it doesn't seem to make a difference to the phone.

Thoughts appreciated. This is causing me to miss reminders as I don't always notice the watch alert which is more subtile.

Thanks,

I’ve had this since I’ve owned my 1st series Apple Watch and 6+ phone. I just assumed that’s how it worked, and it doesn’t really bother me.

Interesting point. I hadn't thought that it may be the Apple Watch causing the problem. I noticed this ever since I got the iPhone X (and also have a series 3 Apple Watch). I'll experiment more with this to see of i get notifications once the watch is turned off.

Right. That is how it is now but it was not that way before. I used to be able to get notifications on both devices at the same time even when the lock screen was on. I think the recent operating system update change this. When I spoke to Apple support they were also surprised by this change, although they were unaware until they too found this support article. They have sent my request to have this changed back to the way it was to someone. I wonder if that will really happen. Right now I am missing a lot of my notifications when I wear my Apple Watch because I don’t always notice the thumps on my wrist.

I get the same notifications on my iPhone 6 with iOS 11 that I get on my Apple Watch. Of course they are silent, but I do see them. Do you have banners enabled for these notifications? History enabled? Maybe that makes a difference. I’m just guessing.

This has always been how Apple Watch worked. If you are not using your phone, they only go to your wrist. If looking at your phone (i.e. unlocked), it goes to phone and not watch. If you're missing notifications, enable "prominent haptics" on the Watch which makes them stronger.
