I had a jb phone that had to get replaced.
i restored it and itunes automaticly downloaded 3.1.3
so when i got my new iphone 3gs. it had 3.1.2 but i did "Restore to Back up" and it went to 3.1.3
i tried the whole shift+ restore and clicking on 3.1.2
but i will get a error.

any ideas? or help?

If you have a 3GS that hasn't previously been jailbroken and is on 3.1.3 you cannot currently jailbreak.

i understand that

but i was previsously jailbroken on an iphone 3gs... i did a backup while it was JB

but new phone now

First mistake was restoring the phone as this as you know, installed 3.1.3 on the phone. You are now stuck on 3.1.3 and there is no way to go back to 3.1.2.

When you got the new phone with 3.1.2, you should have connected it to iTunes. When the phone showed up on the left, you should have right clicked on it and then chose to restore from backup. This would have kept 3.1.2 on the phone and you could have jailbroke the phone and unlocked.

Again, you have no choice but to stay on 3.1.3.

But does this mean we're never going to be able to jailbreak again with a 3GS that's on 3.1.3?
