No Mac mini Refurbs

Yes, but come to think of it I have not seen any for about a month now. I just bought a refurbished MacBook Pro so I've been looking actively.
July 25 seems about right, I'm predicting the if the Mini is updated it will be released with Mountain Lion, and that's scheduled for a July release, so...

The Refurb store inventory changes constantly, sometimes several times a day. It has no relation whatsoever to new product releases. It's only determined by what Macs have been returned to Apple and have gone through the refurbishing process.
That's exactly what I thought.
If they have no refurbs it just means they haven't had any returned to them to refurbish and resell for that period of time.
True, but what are the chances of there not being a single refurbished Mac mini in many diffrent countries.

There will probably be a fair number of refurb models when the new upgrade comes along, since I guess some will return their current ones to upgrade to the newer spec etc. maybe everyone is just hanging on for that?

Apple announces their quarter two earnings on the July 24, and last year they released Lion the day after the Q2 earnings announcement, so we figure they will do the same. 9to5mac also said July 25.

It's quite possible, and happens frequently. Mac minis have historically been harder to find in the Refurb store than Mac notebooks. It's not uncommon at all for none to be available. Again, the Refurb store inventory is not related in any way to new product releases.
Have to agree with you. Before an update not much of a clue. after the update comes out there can be quite a few released. I have done some nice deals the first 2 or 3 weeks after an update. My guess is the 2010 2.4 will drop from 469 to 399 . If I can grab them at that price I will. They sell like mad once I put ram and a better hdd in them.
I see no relationship between refurbs and the possible announcement of updated machines. If there is an imminent release of new models, it won't affect to refurb store. And new models will be in very short supply, not refurbs.
don't forget that they probably need to get a certain stock level of refurbished units in and accumulated, fixed, and ready before they put them up on the site. they might have 10 sitting in a warehouse but probably wait until they have a few hundred before listing them in the refurb store because that just makes it easier to manage stock.
I just stopped in to another location of apple store. And he said no new minis or imac were announced. So it may be a while.
And they don't match prices. That frys 529 deal is awesome but they won't match it. They only do 10% so 540 is the best they will do.

I've been watching the refurb part of the store for quite sometime. When I looked last week, there were only two Mac Minis listed.
I was about to buy one several months ago, forgotten my wallet at the house so, I went straight home after work, logged in and it was sold. I posted that on here somewhere before.
So, they do come and go. I really doubt it has anything to do with a release.

Why do people still ask Apple stuff when new products are announced? Even if they'd know it (which is definitely not the case) they wouldn't say it.
And yes, as for today, july 23rd, there is NO new Mac Mini announced. Why? It would just be plain stupid. They announce their quarter earnings for Q2/12 tomorrow, so just give them a few days to start Q3 with Mac Minis, iMacs and Mountain Lion.

All I know is these guys know nothing more than the community. Of course it's possible there's no 2012 Mac Mini, but why would this make sense? I mean, I kinda can understand this decision for the Mac Pro (which even got a *slight* update this year), but not for a volume product like the Mini. It costs basically nothing putting the new chips in there, and it would boost their sales as well as their Q3 results, which are very important and the reason why they waited until the end of july to release the Mini.
Yeah, Apple Store employees know absolutely nothing about release dates. I'll never forget when I was getting ready to buy my first MacBook Pro in 2007, I was at an Apple Store browsing when one of the employees asked if I was looking to buy one. I said that I was, but I wanted to wait until they were updated in the summer (this was probably in April). She said they probably wouldn't be updated until October, but I was pretty sure they were going to be updated at WWDC.
I was actually about a week late, as they were updated for the kickoff of the back to school sale instead of at WWDC. But the employees have no more idea than you or I when it comes to product releases. Actually, we oftentimes have more knowledge about it since we take the time to follow sites like Mac Rumors. They most likely say there are no expected updates because they want you to buy one.
