So, EA announced Madden 09 the other day, and neither Mac nor Windows is among the platforms that are specified as being supported. It would be...disappointing...if, only one year after returning to the Mac game market with such hoopla, EA decided to vanish once again.

Anyone have any news/RUMINT/thoughts?

bad sales

can really be the only culprit - i know a LOT of madden fans are very unhappy with ea (visit any madden forum and you'll see), so maybe they're doing a fancy makeover prior to announcing (hope)? the graphics on 08 are pretty bad when compared to other games, even if it is just a simple football game. plus, i know a lot of people who are switching to football manager, but never tried m'self. that being said, i still enjoy madden 08. just about to finish another season! it would be a shame to not update, but if they announced a mojor make-over and two years inbetween releases, i'm pretty sure i would pick up madden 2010...

course, lots of people are always unhappy with ea...;)

If there's no Madden '09 for the PC-then there won't be a Mac version released at all.

I always liked EA's sport games on the PC until now, but now I'd rather play them on the PS2-I find gameplay so much easier on consoles.
