no more apple email?

first i don't have a @mac.com or @me.com email address, didn't want to pay for service....

but now that its free...

i would like to have a apple email address.

Is apple getting rid of there email service?
or will we be able to create a apple email address in the future?

You will be able to create an @me.com address after iCloud goes live.

Yup, in fall.

Developers in the iOS or Mac Developer Programs have access to iCloud at the moment and can register @me.com addresses via Lion or iOS5.
