Has anyone noticed they are no longer offering the 27" i7 imac?? The highest you can go now is the i5, the lower 27 is the core 2 now. Any idea why they did this???

I still see the i7 as an option to the i5.

The Intel Core i7 processor also features Hyper-Threading technology, which allows two threads to run simultaneously on each processor core, providing eight virtual cores for increased performance.

Processor

* 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
* 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 [Add $220.00]

Oh no.
Whatever will we do.

Just checked the i7 is still on the Apple Store site as an upgrade to the i5. I purchased an i7 a little over two weeks ago at an Apple Store. At the time I was told they had only had them in the store (instead of custom online build) for two weeks.

But the low end 27" is a core 2 now, thought it was an i5 before at $1699, they've changed it
