in iOS9 when i was in a facetime call with someone and I locked the phone, say .. because its just idle on my table and its an audio call, or it's in my pocket and im on a walk or something.

And I would get a notification, I'd hear the beep, or feel a buzz, or whatever, .. I look at the screen and it would tell me I am on facetime of course, but it would also tell me the notification.

This is gone basically in iOS 10.. I can't glance at the notification, either it's hidden, turned off, or it's a bug that's not working?

The screen lights up when it comes in, shows me I am in the facetime call, and yes, i still am on the lock screen (just like in ios9). But there's nothing there.. no notification.

I do not know what the point is of hiding the notification from the lock screen and still turn on the lock screen .. it's supposed to be a glance? i got something new? GO FISH! A ridiculous game.

Is there a setting perhaps to just show them there, even on facetime calls? It's kinda useless now. Especially in traffic a quick glance to see if its THAT important thing you were waiting for, so you know you have to stop what your'e doing and pay attention to it, that quarter of a second is now a half a minute fishing game to find out while on ft - which app it was that had a new thing.

Lot 23E. Somewhere in Georgia.
I noticed this a couple days ago, but on a regular voice call. I got an iMessage and I heard the tone and the screen woke up, but no on-screen notification.

Hoping this is a bug that will be fixed.

I know we can still drag down from the top, but it really isn't a ' light up the screen for a glance of ..' at that point it's faster to just touch id into the system and click an app with red thingy.

Hello Floris and BeeGood, did you find a solution?

It happens to me too since iOS 10, when I get a FaceTime call (audio or video) everything works fine.

But it doesn't work with regular phone calls from the iPhone through continuity. The iPad doesn't ring but display the call, and if I miss the call I don't have notifications whether it's on lock screen or on the FaceTime app itself like I used to with the red circle.
