maybe it wasn't the ram? I'm on ios9 using the 6+ and now have 3 tabs open with no reloading tabs. Funny it took me 3 days to notice this.

Same with mine on the iPhone 6 Plus.

I'm not sure if it's purely because of the optimisation alone or that I have Content Blockers.

I've also noticed if one does reload it starts from where I left it.

You may be right. I also installed that crystal app after updating to ios9. So it could be either one or the combination of the two. Either way, it's a nice change.
