Bought a new Macbook Air 13 inch a few days ago and ultimately decided I did not need it. Went back to the Apple store and was expecting a 10% restocking fee since I had open and used it, but to my surprise, they refunded the entire amount. They told me that Apple dropped the fee just a few days ago. Gotta admit, great customer service!

This is very good news. Not that people should start abusing it. But it's always nice to know if something happens that you're not hosed out of a big chunk of money. 10% is a lot of money on a Mac.

How steadfast were they about it before though? I returned two iPod touches back in September, they were a day or two out of the return window even, and they waived the restock charge, as well as let me return outside of the window. I was very pleased, as I was expected to have to swallow a restocking fee on two iPods.
