I transferred transformers.mkv to the movies folder in ATVFiles per the instructions on some website, and i can't find the movies folder.
I know it transferred b/c it took 1.5 hours and i saw it happening.
Help?

no, how do I do that?
I'm not very profecient at this hacking stuff?
do I use a mkdir command or something?

yes, mkdir Movies
and then you copy all files and folders into the "Movies" folder

Wow, who knew my CS101 class would ever come in handy!

so once I get into my apple tv via ssh
I'm gonna do

cd ~/frontrow
mkdir movies

and then copy my mkv file to the apple TV again?
I already copied it to /frontrow/movies which apparently doesn't exist...

Also, Have you been able to play mkv files on appleTV via perian, i've heard that the apple tv isn't powerful enough to handle the filetype

skype me: appletvandmore - it is easier than question - reply....
ATV has problems with mkv files, it is best to re-encode them. That is what I do.

I found this website, I have the h.264 , the 5.1 ac3, and the stereo aac. Now if only i could mux them to a .m4v as on this website then we'd be in business
