No new MBP... So why did they stop shipping the 13"?

A couple of weeks ago, I visited the Technology Store at my school (UMD) to try out the 13"MPB. I'm in the market for a new laptop, as my 2006 15"MBP died about 6 months ago. They have all these bundles and options at the store on my campus, including a 4-year contract for AppleCare, so I thought it was worth a shot. I was pretty happy with the screen size (I do a lot of photo editing), and said "I'll take one" but the guy who was helping me out said "We are actually out of stock. They're not shipping 13" any more."

Has anyone bought one in the past few weeks? Why would they have pulled it?

this morn at the mall i was at best buy and we stopped by the apple store and made a joke about the new macbook pro and the girl working there rolled her eyes and said "There is no new MBP!!!!!!! get over it!!!!! probably summer!" i don't know if she was just jokin or just being a total B!!!!!

She knows just as much as you when it comes to apple's product announcements. Apple tells its store staff as much as it tells its consumers - nothing.

I went to my school's Apple store to buy a regular Macbook and they were out and said they wouldn't get any in stock for a couple of weeks (I figured this was because of the rumored refresh that was supposed to be yesterday). I tried to buy it a week and a half ago. I got a Macbook though, I just ordered it off Amazon instead!

There is no way they wait until the summer. That would essentially be 1 year since the last update. She obviously didn't know what she was talking about. If there are no updates by the end of february, I will not only be surprised, but disappointed in the direction of apple Mac side of things.

Why the hell would you buy a MBP 13" instead of a MB? It's EXACTLY the same now. Apples "Pro" offerings have gone into the toilet.

Ha... they didn't even do that. It's an iPod Touch XL. The iPhone is BETTER... you can actually make a phone call on that.
