No matter what I host, no one joins. My friend always joins, and we wait for more people, but no one joins. People used to join, I didn't play for a couple of months, and now no one does. There has to be something going on...

EDIT: Just about every time I post a problem, I solve it straight away. I hosted a game with a pornographic name and people joined. I guess people just only like to play DOTA or whatever other crappy maps they like.

As you've discovered, the game type and content is less important than coming up with a good Battle.net game name, but here's a few specific tips:

1. Make liberal use of ALL CAPS. This makes people PAY ATTENTION AND READ CAREFULLY. Also make sure you have plenty of extra punctuation in your game title.
2. Always advertise BEWBIES or something similar (note how this can be combined with tip 1 for maximal impact).
3. Make sure you denigrate "noobs", "laggers", ethnic groups, and people of alternative sexuality. We only want the highest caliber Battle.net players in our game.
4. Finally, and most importantly, make sure you ban anyone who looks like they're beating you. Hosts are there to ban people, not lose the game (this is why hosts are 'undefeated', after all).

Putting it all together, you might use a game name like ">>BEWBS HERE<< UNDEFEATED!!!1@ NO NUBS/AZNS BANLIST". Be creative; there are probably 50 similarly awesome game names vying for players' attention.

Well it is sad but if you look carefully 99% of the games are dota.
dota is fun but I really do not understand why it has soooo much suxces, I have a ton of other old scool maps on my computer but I stoped trying.

Maybe some one should creat a clan for people who wanna play old maps :) it would be fun!

That phenomen is why i await Starcraft 2 so much, so there are more people and fresh new custom games :).

This is why I don't play custom games. Plus the people I play BNet are amazingly good. I am working my way up to 1v1's. I am on 2v2's right now and am doing pretty well.
