I'm trying to help someone with an iPhone X. He doesn't want his AirPods ver 2.0 to do the auto switching devices. He just wants them to connect to his Apple Watch Series 6 and that is all. I looked in his settings and there is no entry called "Connect to This iPhone Automatically" to be able to turn it off! He is on the latest 14.3 and iPhone X. I have re-booted both the iPhone and watch and still nothing. Is this option only available on newer iPhones?
TIA

I bought some refurbished AirPods from Wish and they did not have that option showing. They also didn't work well. I googled "counterfeit AirPods" and looked for all the markers and they appeared to be real, every single indicator I could find, but they did not work well, and specifically this option was missing.

I then got a refund on those and got a second set from Wish. Same issue. Did not work well, and strangely that option was not available.

I then bought a set from Amazon. They work as expected and that option appears.

I feel like the ones from Wish are exceptionally good counterfeits, or just faulty. It's just off that it was two sets and both had that option missing.
