What if i'm not a US citizen and i want to buy an iPhone just for the ipod
feature (and also that in the future when it will arrive my country ill already
own one). can i use a pre-paid plan and just pay for the iPhone and the activation ?

nope, even iPod functionality won't work without a 2 year contract and activation fee. says so right on the Apple iPhone page. i'm willing to bet they won't let you activate with a non-US address as well.

Check over at Craigslist. Maybe the same guy who is willing to stand in line for you is willing to let you use his name, address and SS number to activate your iPhone.

Sarcasm off
