yeah i guess..
i wonder if there is such thing as an external s-video out unit.

Yep the DVI output is now the s-video output as well. Simply hook up the DVI-Svideo adapter and your away :)

Glad the macbookpro comes with one, the imac doesnt.. Had to order a dvi adapter for the new imac and shipping is over 3 weeks for one adaper?

S-Video is a legacy connector. That's why it isn't present.

Where did you hear it comes with a DVI->S-video adapter? It isn't listed for "what's in the box" on Apple's page. Only the DVI->VGA is.
