Hi all,

I have a 2012 Mac Mini runing Mavericks.

I have a few issues since updating to Mavericks that I am trying to diagnose.

In an effort to do this I tried to boot into Safeboot mode by re-starting with Shift depressed. I waitind untill there was a progress bar then releaced shift. The bar continuse to completion then I get a boot spining thing.... then Black, chimes and standard boot. No Safe mode.

Any Ideas?

I've done a Apple Hardware test but it found nothing.

I have an i7 2.3 with 16Gig Ram and a DIY 256/1TB fusion.

Cheers!

are you using a USB keyboard or wireless?
Sometimes the BT keyboards do not get paired in a timely fashion, therefore the boot up key-presses get ignored.

Hi, using a wired KB... BT mouse though.

Also, I thinks the key press is received as the mac attempts to go into Safe but gets lost 1/2 way..

Cheers though... Good call

Nah ... That's not it either.

Tried the "nvram" command in terminal and ended up in a reboot loop!

That was a bugger to fix I can tell ya! Had to boot from an external clone then cancel the command from terminal on the USB drive...

Uff...

Still can't get safe boot on my fission though :(
