no selection tool in GIMP?

So where is the selection tool in GIMP...

...the first six icons on the dock. Rectangular marquee (for making rectangular selections (shortcut R), elliptical marquee for making circular selections (shortcut E), lasso tool to draw a selection (shortcut F), magic wand tool to select continuous regions of color (shortcut Z)...etc.

Are you talking about the Path Selection or Direct Selection tool, like in Photoshop, which is keyboard shortcut A?

i am talking about how in photoshop you have a black cursor and a white cursor that the sole purpose is to select objects where is that in gimp...

I don't think GIMP has that feature yet however there could a plugin out there for it.

Yes, those are the Path Selection (black) and Direct Selection (white) tools. I don't think they exist in GIMP. Try the Bezier Selection tool instead.
