no service after Jailbreaking!

Done a jailbreak ok and everything went well, but now I have no service? Anybody help, my iPhone was not unlocked just jailbroken!

i updated using a custom 3.1 ipsw!

what carrier are you with? if your in the us and you are AT&T then you can just JB but if you are tmobile then you must unlock too!

I am in the UK and i am on O2! - i am going to redo the process again using another custom 3.1 to see if thats works.

first time i jailbroke to 3.1 i had no service either. rejailbroke and service returned. in pwnagetool, make sure "activate phone" is NOT checked (since your iphone is not unlocked and i presume you're using it with an "official" carrier)

you are going to want to try another custom firmware, whoever had that one is probably using their phone with an unauthorized carrier (I know 02 is an official carrier) and if that be the case probably had it set up "hacktivated" because it will not activate via itunes. This will render a phone using an official carrier useless until it is reflashed with a different custom firmware.

Check for a different firmware or keep waiting for the windows jailbreak. Sorry I couldn't be more help

I had the same problem. I am on AT&T, and restored using an activated .ipsw file. I downloaded an unactivated one, restored again, and all is well now. Good Luck.
